Okay, Y’all…

…get the tissues ready. I’m so full of champagne thankfulness for y’all today. I know I’m not a “famous” blogger. I know I came to blogging way too late to be a Mommy-Blogger-Extraordinaire or Funny Lady. But the last few months have been a real joy. I started out blogging because Mr. Hot seemed to think that my life was funny. Ha! I’ve been stalked by a ghost from my past. (We’ve since made our peace.) I’ve shared my fear of losing my job and my love for my grandmother.  I’ve told you about the romance of business travel and fucking weird shit that has happened. I bought this and had to beg for comments. I participated in NoBloPoMoMoFoShoNufWeDidIt. And yet, through the shots of vodka and the bottles o’ wine, I’ve discovered a community here.  And I’m grateful.

Can I tell y’all? (Witness!)

(Mr. Hot is in the kitchen singing Marvin Gaye. And Poopy the Puppy is draped across my legs in the living room. It only seems appropriate to Praise! and Hail! and OMG, I’m going to be struck by lightening one of these days.  Hell Yea.  [I didn’t spend 7 years in West-By-Gawd-Virginia and not learn how to say Hell Yea.])

I can’t miss a day without checking in to make sure that Candy is okay. And that Kelley and Boo are behaving themselves. And that Kristabella and Marianne and Briar’s Mom are having fun.

On New Year’s Eve, I will be in the office in the morning and then will go with Mr. Hot and Shortman to see the Detroit Pistons beat the Milwaukee Bucks (I don’t think I have any Wisconsin readers, but if I do, c’mon, show yourselves!). It has become a tradition in our family - eat at the Palace Grille buffet and waddle to our seats to cheer RIP and the Prince to victory.    One year, we left our rental house with the taps for hot water in the shower broken to make it to the game - thank goodness we had a great landlord - we seriously could have come home to floods and pestilence!

But, I have to tell y’all thank you. Thank you all so very much for making these past seven months so much fun. For introducing me to a whole new world out there in the internets.

I hope you prosper in 2008. That all of your fondest wishes come true. Please believe me when I tell you all that you deserve your brightest and boldest dreams - that were it in my power - I would easily grant you all of them. For those of you that read “My Life as a Hotfessional” - for those of you who commented and emailed me - you will never know how much I love to see the new emails in my inbox.  I hope we are able to become even better friends in the coming months.

Happy New Year to All of You. May 2008 bring you all that you wish for.  For there is no better life for any of us than to be surrounded by those we love and those who love us in return.

    Awww. *sniff*

    Right back at ya, lady!

Here’s to hoping you have a wonderful 2008! Filled with many, many trips to Chicago!

    Happy New Year!

Well, I’ve no great love for the Bucks, but I claim the Badger State, the Brewers and of course the Packers as superior teams to any the great state of Michigan may have to offer;) Happy new year and thanks for the entertainment.

I love your blog, Mrs. Hot. Not only does a branch of my family tree live in West-by-Gawd-Virginia, but our love of football (albeit opposing teams) keeps me comin’ on back. Not to mention the butt saving you provided me with when my personal library ran dry. *whew* That was a close one. ;)
Saw me some awesome football today. Some snow. And I’ll have me some vodka in your honour tomorrow.

Keep on bloggin’, Mrs. Hot. The Hubby and I are expecting good laughs, lotsa shots, and the Chronicles of Mr. Hot, Shortman, and crappy business travel in 2008.

PS: I strongly need some checking up on. Really. I’ve been up to no good. Seriously. Do I make the list now??

Awwww, got something in my eye ;)
Probably the half bottle of red I have consumed on my own. With MPS out working (DJ, with scantily clad girls) On our wedding anniversary. With 2 hours till the New Year. With Boo screaming at me every freaking 5 minutes ‘Is it 2008 yet?’

    smootches babe. I <3 ya.

Happy New Year Ree! May it be everything wonderful you wish for and better.
I want to thank you for the wildly entertaining posts you have come up with in the past, and you know I’m looking forward to what 2008 produces. It’s snowing here kind of hard, so not sure if I want to get bubbly for the ringing in of the new. And there’s bound to be a huge lineup. Cheers!

Best wishes for a happy new year, Ree. Here’s a little New Year’s present for you :

I’m not one much for cooking but I do enjoy looking at others who do. I hope you do, too.

I’m all sniffly now. I’m thankful that I stumbled upon your blog because, seriously, your blog is one that must be checked on the daily. I don’t always comment (because I’ve been checkin’ via blackberry and dammit - can’t figure out commenting that way) but know that you have a loyal reader in Orlando. Plus - you really have a way of telling a story that can keep one in stitches!

Here’s to 2008 - a year of new beginnings and may 2008 bring you happiness, joy, prosperity, choos and wine your way :) Only the best, Ms. Hot - only the best!

    Hi Lady,

Here’s wishing you lots more hubby singing, puppy snuggling, and game-going! Also, wishing you an abundance of love and laughter. :-)

Happy New Year! Here’s to another year of bloggy fun!

Aww Ree I feel exactly the same way. The last few months of blogging have been a true joy, and it’s because of this small family of people who read each other’s blogs and care about what’s going on in each other’s lives. It’s really made it so much more fun to spew my nonsense.

I’m thrilled to have found your site, and to be able to count you among my friends. ;)

Hey there. I got to you through a link on Kristabella. As I read this I kept thinking: wow, all those links must have been a pain to code. I look forward to reading more in ‘08.

    Happy new year!

I wanted to be an informed commenter, so I trotted off on a Google search:

    “Detroit Pistons”

First search response: “Piston Crush Bucks”

Yay for you and yours watching the game!

And a very happy new year to you.

    I think you’re tops.

Many hopes of a healthy and happy 2008 from our house to yours.

Happy new year! Just stumbled across your blog - and yes, I’m a Wisconsinite. But, you won’t catch me getting into it much for sports, unless it involves professional football…

    Nice blog!

Thank you Ree! For the link, and the friendship. Have a wonderful and Happy new Year!

Blogging is the best isn’t it and I really love reading yours. I have been a bit absent this week as you know but I am going to read each and every post I missed. Can’t wait to get to know you better in 2008.

Blessings and good tidings to you and your family Ms Hot. You’re the best.
