Guess Where I Am!

I had one of those hellaciously fun day trips today. Left Detroit at 6:50 a.m. Eastern time. Returning at 9:20 p.m.
Up at 4 a.m., I’ll probably get to sleep tonight around 10:30 after two plane rides, a train ride, a cab ride, bad food, crowds, crappe and shitte, to go to a meeting in Chicago. Oh, and walking 10 blocks in my stiletto boots from the train station to the office in -2 degree farenheit weather.
Yes! You read that right. Negative-two. Two-below-zero.
When I was growing up, we called it, “freeze-your-friggin-nostrils-together-at-the-first-breath” weather. (Okay, maybe we didn’t way friggin’, but the sentiment was there.)
By the time I got to the office, the bottoms of my feet were frostbitten.
So, while I’m waiting for my flight, and catching up on reading and email, you guys have some assignments, remember?

Alright. I’ve paid my bill, given the tip. Now I’m going to head on down to my gate, find a seat and wait for my boarding call. And catch up on my blog reading.

Thanks for adding me. Keep warm in the mountains of snow you Detroiters just keep on getting. Reminds me of a winter I had in Muskegon where it freaking snowed a foot a day each weekend. Had this huge monster Dodge 4-wheel drive that got about 6 mph. Loved that truck. Hated that snow.

My worst travel story involves six weeks stuck in the back of a 1984 Chevy Caravan traveling the great campgrounds of America between Cape Cod and Seattle. I was fifteen and liked Ozzy Osborne and HATED my parents. Does that count? Other than that I’ve had ok luck with airlines, even when they lost my luggage and then delivered the suitcases three days later to a house four doors down from my folks, at least I got it.

I live slightly north of Chicago, so yes, I understand your weather dilemmas. You have no idea how many layers of clothes I’ve been sleeping in lately. Let’s just put it this way - Little Dude won’t be having any little siblings as the Hubby and I have almost no contact through all of the layers…
