Finally

This is out in the front yard.  It’s 60 degrees and sunny.  Mr.  Hot and I have been grocery shopping this morning - and then we went back to the grocery store to get the things we forgot.  We did manage to get 3 great re-usable grocery bags for $0.99 each!  (Of course, I’m sure we cancelled that out by using the fuel to go back to the store, but eventually, I hope we’ll be on the positive side of the green line.)

We took Poopy the Puppy for a nice long walk around the wetlands pond, and yelled at him for rolling in the freshly laid goose shit.  After we came home and finished cleaning the rest of the goose shit out off, I clipped his nails.  He hates getting his nails clipped.   I hate clipping his nails.

The Tigers lost to the White Sox yesterday.   We’re not talking about that.

I have to go get my racing stripe covered today.

I’m reading “Veil of Roses” by Laura Fitzgerald.

I’m so far behind in answering emails, I’m sorry y’all.  I love you for commenting, and I want to respond to each of you - it just takes me a day or three sometimes.  You will hear from me, I promise!

And now I’m going to help Mr. Hot fix the headlight on the truck from Shortman’s little mishap.

—- I’m sure you’re yawning and wishing for a pillow and a nap after today’s post - but if other “Mr. and Mrs. Hot” projects are any indication, I’ll have a story to recount after this endeavor! —-

    Those crocuses are beautiful.

What colour are you having the stripe done? British racing green?

I really, really needed to see a crocus to remember that, yes, there is a God. And? Something is coming up in my garden, just not a crocus.

I am sure glad that it is warm where you are. ‘Cuz it is freakin’ cold here (well, maybe I am the only one that thinks it is. LOL)
Pretty crocus though. Congrats on being able to plant them the right way (this, apparently, is not something I can do. )

There’s something to be said for the reusable grocery bags. A) They hold more; B) It’s more “environmentally correct” or whatever; and C) They are better to look at than those plastic bags that break on a whim. Now if only I can remember to keep them IN the car for when I do decide to go shopping after work.

I have a cabinet full of those reusable bags. Right next to it are THREE cabinets full of plastic bags I have to recycle because I can never remmeber the stupid reusable ones. Even the 10 I leave in the trunk of my car.

I’m working very hard to remember my reusable grocery bags, and manage it about 60% of the time. Unless they’re right on the car seat next to me, I’m bound to forget.

    The crocus is lovely.

It is warm here today and what did I do? I sat inside and caught up on my feed reader. But the windows were open.

And you know what? It will be nice tomorrow and I’m pretty sure some other time before October. So I’ll enjoy the nice then.

Sigh. My crocuses (crocii?) have come and gone. But the weeds are in full bloom.

I have some blue wild flowers right outside my little travel trailer home just two blocks north of the Gulf, that are just beautiful; I sure wished I knew their name. The poor little things are kind of drowning, though, in a large, temporary yard pond, after last night’s 2″ of rain came in off the Gulf and drenched us. Hurricane season is less than 60 days away now; oh goodie! When I get a chance over my noon hours during the week, I am reading one of Larry McMurtry’s many books; good reading, even if I’m not from Texas!

Betcha you are even more hot with no racing stripe. My father looked at me the other day and said ‘you have a mo’ Noice.

Now after waxing I have a noice mo of pimples instead. And meetings all day tomorrow. So pimple mo beats your racing stripe…

    Oh, and purdy flowers…

I don’t have any crocus yet, but I’ve got daffodils. I’m very happy. It also signals that I need to get my bootie out and clean up my gardens. It’s a double edged sword. Mother Nature laughing that I’m going to have to get off my arse and put down the laptop and GO OUTSIDE. Biotch.

We haven’t quite hit 60 degrees here yet. But I think our cold snap last week is the last of the winter weather for the year *crosses fingers and knocks on wood*.

    Those are beautiful crocuses.

I planted a dward blood-red orange tree last week.

Does anyone else know another good type of fruit tree, that isn’t citris and won’t get lots of rodents or birds? I live in Southern California.

Love the crocuses! (croci?) Aren’t they the happiest sight?
Congrats on your new bags. I keep my grocery bags in the van–bring them right out after unpacking them so I never forget them back at the house while running errands. Happy Spring!!!

I’d like to recommend Intuition by Allegra (one L?) Goodman. I just finished it, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s about a lab that may be on the verge of a cancer cure and what happens when doubts are raised as to the veracity of the initial lab findings
