Is It Too Late…

For Wordless Wednesday?

lww.jpg

Mr. Hot and I were sitting out on the front porch, reading and enjoying the soft pitter patter of the rain. Suddenly, we had a torrential downpour on our hands that threatened to send us inside. Luckily, the wind was blowing in the proper direction (i.e. NOT blowing in onto us).

Ten minutes later, I noticed a bluing of the sky:

The bluing got bigger:

And uncovered even more of the thunderheads beneath:

I took the opportunity to snap some other pictures of my freshly bathed garden -

Out of focus, but a load of marigolds:

My gorgeous Shasta Daisys waiting for their friends, the Black-eyed Susans to join them:

and my cute little chickadee with the Coreopsis (yellow) and perennial Geranium (purple):

—- I guess this is technically a Nearly Wordless Wednesday. I came in to upload these photos and the heavens opened up again. Guess Mr. Hot will know to come in out of the rain? —-

Great flowers! I have tons of flowers opened up now, too, and by next week I wonder if I’ll have nothing left but greenery and dead heads. Note to self: must remember to get on-going-flowering plants.

When the heavens open up like that, it doesn’t surprise me that people believed there were Gods standing up there throwing things down.

Beautiful pictures - I love crazy summer weather like that.

Wow those Daisies are so pretty - they are my favourite flower… someone once said that daisies are the friendliest flower (name that quote)… and I totally agree.

    Nice garden Ree!!

I like the cloud pics. Stuff like that is amazing to me.

Very pretty flowers! We can’t even get our wild flowers to grow….they get choked by all the weeds and poison ivy growing in the yard. We are renting our house, and from the loosk of it none of the other tenants have ever weeded. So as much as we try to get rid of all the weeds, they grow back.

I’m glad you gave us the color to guide me to the Coreopsis. At first I thought you were talking about “the cute little chickadee with the medical ailment that makes him look like he ate a cantalope.” Now I know that Coreopsis are yellow and the chickadee is just fat.

The clouds open up and torrential downpours? Are you sure you’re not in Portland? : ) Just kidding, the flowers are gorgeous! How can they grow like that for you and then go all opossum on me and pretend like they’re “sleeping?”

Gorgeous pictures! We’ve had freaky weather here…golfball size hail and then sun and heat, all within 10 minutes of each other. Very weird.
