Stuff and Such
Ahem. {cough, cough} mee mee mee mee mee. do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti! Ahem.
I am getting my voice ready. We’re finally (oh mah holy hell, can I get an Amen y’all?) ready to present The Process (like how it’s taken on it’s own capitalization?) to 200 people today. Two-hundred people - who will be sitting at their desks (some of them will probably be reading blogs and paying absolutely no fucking attention) and looking at my monitor (through Microsoft Live Meeting) while I talk them through five pages of {Yaaaaawwwwwwwnnnnnn. Oh, sorry} tasks and decision-points and if/then/else scenarios.
While being recorded. For posterity (and review by whomever decides that they want to hear exactly what it was that The Hotfessional muttered under her breath at that dickhead who asked that same question for the fifty-eleventh time).
Y’all? I don’t like my voice. I’ve never liked my voice, but y’know? I don’t have to listen to it. (And neither do you, you lucky, lucky people!) Now, I bet I’m going to have to listen to it when this is over. Maybe more than once.
Shoot me now. Shoot me right now. And then again? Kthx.
So, instead of practicing, I’m doing what any of you would do. Drinking heavily. Trying not to think about it, and focusing on other things instead.
Like this item I read on Sarah’s blog:
Motherhood Uncensored has come up with a wonderful idea. Blog The Recession! (Yea, I know. Sigh. Some people don’t think we’re in a recession. Some people can bite me.)
Aaaaaaannyway, the premise is that any little bit we can do to help our families with revenue is a good thing. And clicking through to blogs rather than reading in a reader is one way we can help others as well. Page views for blogs with ads can turn pennies into nickels! And for blogs without ads, the blogger knows that you love them enough to check in and see their pretty words as they were meant to be seen - live and in color!
So, click on that cute little piggie there and find out more about this bandwagon we’re all jumping on.
And if you’re reading these words in a reader…please? Won’t you click through to see me? I have August’s pretty header up.
Two of my friends must have known that I needed a little stroking - because they gave me bling! Awards even!
TxPoppet presented me with this beauty.

It’s so shiny…I’m thinking of printing it out and wearing it on a chain around my neck - dangling just into the cleavage. Hee!
I’m going to pass it along to these bloggers - who are all pretty damned brilliant in their own right.
Cupcake at A Truth Universally Acknowledged - she’s getting ready to go back to her Geniuses - I thought this would be pretty on her desk.
Anonymous Boxer - for her wonderfully witty conversations with “Red”. She makes me hear the voices.
June at Bye, Bye, Pie - for her absolutely amazing ability to come up with coffee-snorting posts. All the time. Every time. With such subtlety.
Lyvvie’s Limelight - I love Lyvvie for making her own adventures. I love Lyvvie’s kids. I want to show Lyvvie how much.
Solomon, my buddy from Things I’m Grateful For - Simple gratitude for things we all take for granted. Like friendship.
Suburban Correspondent at The More, The Messier - for her yarnoholic ways. I understand S.C. - I soooooo do. (Can you believe Wordpress believes yarnoholic is misspelled?)
Lys at Just Because - Lys, I know this isn’t a pair of Loubous, but I want you to know that I thought about you the entire time I was perusing Lucky’s shoe issue.
and…one more for this one -
Talina at Harvest of Daily Life - because she’s moving - a long, long way, and needs to decorate her new home. I’m sure it will look lovely on your mantle. (Um, you have a mantle, right?)
Marylin gave me this gem. A Must-See Blog? Aw, shucks, you’re making me blush.

10 Must Sees??? Only 10? Y’all, have you seen my blogroll? Have you seen the commenters pages for June and July? Okay, if you’re on any of those pages, I consider you “Must See”. I may not comment every day. I may not visit every day. But you’re there for a reason - and I know I’m cheating here, but give a girl a break, eh? I could cut/paste the whole shebang, but then where would you be?
—- Okay, so I go interrupted while writing this to actually DO that presentation. AND the recording didn’t work. We’ll be trying again tomorrow. Which means an entire night of anxiety over having to listen to my voice and cringing with every “um”. Yeah, there’s that to keep me awake tonight. Thanks AT&T. —-
—– Oh, and you! Yea, you, in that reader? Click me, please? —-

Why, thank you so much! I feel like P Diddy!

Anyway, wonderful awards presentations. Slightly shorter than last years Tony awards, but next time I am certain that there will be more effort put into extending the ceremony. LMAO
(PS — Noticed the photos of the Franken-vacation. LOVE the bridge! AWESOMENESS!)
Good luck with the presentation thingy.
And do what I do with my voice. Just don’t listen to it. EVER. (and people wondered why it was Nathan talking in the video, not me.)

The Matron blushes, so pleased to be on those June/July pages. She saw this post and has big old plans for RSS feeders and Digg and skirting the recession and all that jazz. But! First she must wipe the technological drool from her chin and block out a few hours.
Don’t wait up.
Minnesota Matron’s last blog post..Unsolicited Advice! Love, the Matron

Sarah, Goon Squad Sarah’s last blog post..The World Just Keeps Getting Smaller
part of the fun of Blog the Recession is finding blogs I haven’t seen yet. And your send me through links to several others — if I can stimulate the economy by reading blogs, I’ll do it! At least I don’t have to buy gas while I’m sitting with my laptop.
