Read Down For the Title

Cue the Hotfessional
O
n the corporate stage
Really not my cup of tea
Playing nicely with others
Ordinarily keeping them on task
Rating and ranking their progress
And determining their place in the company
Teams are great, don’t get me wrong
Except when none are happy.

Today, I spent the whole day
Ensuring people that things will be okay
And their lives won’t change too much.
Maybe some of it was true
But
Under other circumstances
I would not have found this to be a chore
Loving the people I work with
Doing my best
In difficult times
Never believing that this part I play would
Grate on my ethics so much.

I’m so proud of all of my staff and my fellow managers. We had fun, even though we knew this was probably the last time we would ALL be together. This is an amazing group of people.

You are way too creative, my dear.

So what did you cook for lunch?

I just read a really good book on teambuilding. I need to do a teambuilding thing soon, but my team is so dysfunctional that I’m dreading it. Which is the point! Lucky me.

Sorry your team is being dismantled, that’s hard to deal with.

It’s funny how where I work, we are a team but we don’t necessarily have to work together. We come together when it matters. It works best this way so we don’t kill each other. :)

I’m sorry that you are having to deal with all this, but I’m so glad that you got to work with so many people that ended up meaning a lot to you!!!!

We have several teams where I work. And there is serious un-cooperation amongst them. It’s like pulling teeth. A totally unpleasant experience. And I work for a non-profit! You’d think we’d be all about banding together and kickin’ some ass. But no. Much bickering and “that’s not MY job” ensues. I hate it here.

It really helps to like the people you work with. Someday, when I’m no longer solely a domestic goddess, I aspire to have a job with people I like. It’s good to have goals, right?

I wish our crew even THOUGHT about team building. Outside of a few people that I’m close to, the rest leave alot to be desired. :(

So you’re required to tell everybody “it’ll all be fine!! really….” when nobody is even hired on with the new company? I don’t get it.
