The ABCs of Meme - Awards - and My Foot
I’m sitting here on the couch with my left foot raised in the air. My left foot that decided, this morning, to start shrieking, “No, No, Oh mah holy hell No!” just as we were starting our second mile. My self-diagnosis is a stress fracture caused by running with piss-poor form wearing shoes that are too old on hard-ass concrete. WebMD says it’s Metatarsalgia.
So, while I am trying to figure out how to crawl to the kitchen and reach the liquor cabinet being waited on by my adoring family and browsing blogs, I remembered that Nancy at Marie Millard tagged me for a meme. And look, No Rules!
A. Attached or single? Attached - sometimes it feels like at the hip. (It’s okay honey, I don’t know anyone else I’d rather share a leg with!)
B. Best friend? My husband. Okay, we’re boring.
C. Cake or pie? Cream pie. NO fruit.
D. Day of choice? Saturday - sleeping in is my way of celebrating making it through the week.
E. Essential item? Eyebrow pencil - I finally figured out how to draw them on!
F. Favorite color? Green. Deep, rich pine-y green.
G. Gummy bears or worms? Meh. Worms I guess.
H. Hometown? ‘burbs of the Big D, 313 - (and I didn’t have to change Nancy’s answer!)
I. Indulgence? DHC skincare and cosmetics, elaborate earrings.
J. January or July? July - I’m all about the hot.
K. Kids? Pushed one out - helped raise 3.
L. Life isn’t complete without? Books, vodka, cheese
M. Marriage date? Practiced on 8/24, Figured it all out on 9/28
N. Number of brothers & sisters? 1 of each
O. Oranges or apples? Oranges - sweet navel oranges
P. Phobias? Fire. I have a recurring dream where my house is on fire.

R. Reasons to smile? A sunny day in Michigan, a flower, my husband’s touch, my son’s laughter.
S. Season of choice? Summer

U. Unknown fact about me? I’m not sure there are any left. Wait, let’s see…I have a freckle on the bottom of my right foot.
V. Vegetable? Cauliflower - raw
W. Worst habits? My three cigarettes per day. Shut up!
X. X-ray or ultrasound? First and only ultrasound at 28 (Shortman), First and only X-ray at 39 (soccer cleat to the shin).
Y. Your favorite food? Whatever I’ve gone without the longest - today I’d say the perfectly sauced pasta and crusty bread.
Z. Zodiac sign? Taurus. I’m a poster child for the personality traits of this sign. (Oh, and George Clooney and I share a birthday!)

See what happens when you run.. Running is BAD BAD BAD BAD..
I believe that you were born with an ‘run allowance’ and you should only use this allowance for important things like running to the freezer to rescue the vodka or to rescue the good cheese. You should never fritter away your run allowance on silly things like running for the phone or *gasp* running in circles on a track..
Save that run.. You never know when you will need it..
