Haiku Friday - Yuck

Published by Ree at 5:14 pm under Haiku Friday

I am one of these.
Weather report this week sucks.
Bed sounds really good.

But the dog needs walked.
So we layer - and head out.
Into frigid air.

Mr. Hot’s theory,
“It will make you feel better.”
Um, not really dear.

Twenty degree highs?
Michigan’s economy?
Fuck that stupid duck.

Maybe chocolate?
And a yarn delivery -
with a side of wine.

—- If anyone wants me, I’ll be over there in the corner waiting for the UPS truck. —-

It does not make you feel better. Unless maybe you have a fever and your internal temperature is 170 degrees!

Years ago, the “Duck” phrase was one of my favorites, believe it or not. I was so surprised when I learned that it was one of your favorites, too. And now it’s back to the heating pad and ice packs for my lower back.

One time, when Olivia was three, the UPS man pulled up in front of the house. Clearly demonstrating that we did not enunciate the letters U P and S well enough, Olivia threw open the door and screamed…

    THE PENIS MAN IS HERE!!!!

    It was actually awesome.

Mr. Cute UPS Man has been to my house 3 times this week. And the FedEx guy once. It’s been a pleasant week around here, lol.

I’m already tired of the cold. Luckily, tomorrow it’s supposed to warm up! I may have to artificially warm via coffee and booze.

Me? I flew the coop tonight and consumed a dozen chocolate peanut clusters, but refrained from consuming the half gallon of Irish Cream I made. Aren’t I a lesson in self restraint? Tomorrow, though… no guarantees.

I hope your weekend is FAB-U-LOUS.

Yeah, in my experience, men will say just about anything to get out of doing the chores. I’m also a fan of the phrase “fuck a duck” — and “fuck-a-doodle-doo,” from Shaun of the Dead. Great haiku!
